Accounting Intern:

The Job:

Tough Mudder’s accounting department is offering a 10 week paid student internship during the summer of 2015. The internship’s on-the-job training will provide the student with skills needed in a variety of careers in finance and accounting.

The Work:
Work with the AR team on credit & collections
Assist with financial statement audits
Support general accounting month-end closing procedures
Assist with AP filing, vendor entry, and vendor review
Assist in innovation of accounting processes within Finance

The Traits:
Strong organizational skills in addition to excellent written and verbal communication skills, in a professional environment
A high level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and the ability to keep sensitive information confidential

The Experience:
Must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate program with a major in Accounting, Business, Finance or Economics – junior and senior years only, please

Senior Marketing Associate We have both a senior and a junior role here.  The senior role is 3-5 years general marketing experience…Brand management is a plus but could also be a background in PR / communications, social media, etc.  This person will need good project management skills to coordinate various activities centered around one of our brands – Tough Mudder, Urban Mudder, Mudderella, World’s Toughest Mudder, Mini Mudder.  The junior role will be similar but 2-3 years experience.

Staff Auditor position available at WDR, CPA in Queensbury

Job Description:

WDR, CPA of Queensbury, NY is searching for a self-motivated professional to join our team as a Staff Auditor. WDR auditing practice is focused around client service and education so you will be joining a dynamic group of professionals who are exposed to a wide variety of tasks and projects to include: complex audit projects, review engagements, financial statement preparation for not-for-profits, government and employee benefit plans, reviewing policy and procedures, advising on organizational improvements, etc. Along with auditing, the Staff Auditor will work with tax preparation for individuals, corporations and not-for-profits, developing a full range of experience within this busy firm. The position is ideal for a career oriented individual looking for progression in the field. Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree by spring 2015 with active progression toward CPA license or Master’s degree by spring 2015
  • Proficiency with MS Word and MS Excel
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks, Adobe Acrobat and Outlook a plus
  • Strong communication, team building, leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent analytical ability and detail orientation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of audit/accounting experience
  • Prior experience with not-for-profit and governmental audits
  • Advanced degree from an accredited university
  • CPA license or other professional certifications

NYS Office of the State Comptroller Future Forward Internship Academy, Summer 2015

Internship opportunity for students interested in Auditing, Business Management Accounting, Human Resources and Administration and Project Management. Selected students will have 22.5 hours per week of class/experiential learning and 15 hours working for the NYS Comptroller’s Office on project-based work.
