Purpose:
The Behavioral Services Internship at AIM Services, Inc. is a role in which the student is serving in a learning capacity which provides hands-on field experience with the purpose of acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary to apply in future career choices. It is the expectation of AIM Services, Inc. that the student meets all required components outlined in the job description set forth by the organization as well the requirements set forth by their college.

Qualifications:
• Current enrollment as a student in an academic curriculum at an accredited college and/or university.
• Valid NYS Drivers License acceptable to Agency Insurance standards/depending on program needs. Maintain valid insurance and provide insurance card if using your own vehicle.
• Ability to exhibit/maintain a professional, kind, courteous and patient manner at all times.
• Completion of required Tuberculosis/Mantoux (PPD) vaccinations.
• Meeting all required AIM Services, Inc. background checks (i.e.) Criminal, Justice Center, Child Abuse registry, Department of Motor Vehicle and Social Media.
• Completion of all required trainings as outlined by AIM Services, Inc.

Physical / Cognitive Requirements:
• Lifting/transferring – individuals/items of various weights – must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Bending/Reaching/Pushing/Pulling
• Ability to successfully complete Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention (SCIP) certification and apply proactive behavioral approach techniques at all times.
• Demonstrated interest and ability to make possible the personal outcomes of individuals receiving services
• Adherence to Agency policies, including Attendance Policy

Essential Functions/Project Requirements:

AIM Services, Inc. will provide all Interns with 1:1 supervision opportunities throughout the Internship program providing mechanisms such as a Bi-Weekly Supervisory meeting and Internship Evaluation to provide feedback to all parties involved. On the job training opportunities will be presented inclusive of professional development trainings, attendance at interdisciplinary team meetings, departmental meetings and special projects as well as any other relevant Internship assignments defined by Aim Services, Inc. and the college and/or university working with the Intern.

The essential functions/project requirements for the Behavioral Services Internship at AIM Services, Inc. are as follows:

Knowledge of Human Behavior
• Collaborate with peers, those in other disciplines, and community members to design a health promotion or disease prevention plan of care for a community that is grounded in evidence in the professional literature.
• Exposure to an array of physical actions and observable emotion associated with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or traumatic brain injury.
• Identifying and researching evidence-based practices and theories associated with behavior.

Knowledge of Service Delivery
• Evaluate the contributions of your profession to promote health, wellness, and improve access to quality health care.
• Analyze the impact of regulatory and professional issues on practice in a health care organization.
• Evaluate the impact of behavioral services in the field of people with developmental disabilities and traumatic brain injuries.

Skills
• Apply theory to practice in a leadership role.
• Provide care that is evidence-based incorporating models, concepts, and principles.
• Assist in taking, gathering, and analyzing data to support behavioral strategies and develop treatments.
• Provide critical thinking skills to a vast array of psychological components.
• Assemble and apply concepts, theories, and strategies to assist in developing behavioral pedagogies and treatments.
• Assist in understanding and implementing functional assessments, functional analysis, and/or descriptive analysis.

The right individual will be outgoing with good problem-solving skills, able to adapt to an ever-changing work environment, and eager to learn. They will work on a variety of projects in various mediums in the early stages of production, including but not limited to: working with artists, contracts, content delivery, and print material coordination, and assisting in volunteer coordination and outreach. They will work in conjunction with BEAT’s Festival Producer, Executive Director, Marketing Manager, and Brooklyn artists and venues.

Production experience is preferred but not required. A driver’s license is preferred but not mandatory. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and some social media is a must.

Marketing Intern

The right individual will be outgoing with good problem-solving skills, able to adapt to an ever-changing work environment, and eager to learn. They will work with the Marketing manager on a variety of projects in various mediums, in the early stages of production, including but not limited to: communicating with artists to generate content for marketing campaigns, social media content delivery, and print material coordination. They will work in conjunction with BEAT’s Festival Producer, Executive Director, Marketing Manager, and Brooklyn artists and venues.

Some marketing experience is preferred. An understanding of all social media platforms, Microsoft Office, and Google Docs is a must. Some knowledge of social media and website analytics would come in handy.
