Internship SUNY Empire State College Office of Alumni and Student Relations

The Empire State College Office of Alumni and Student Relations is currently seeking a student intern from SUNY Empire State College during the September 2015 and January 2016 terms to help in the development of alumni-student programs. There are approximately 73,000 Empire State College alumni. Many of these alumni are active or looking to become active in programs that help current Empire State College students move towards successful degree completion.
The Office of Alumni and Student Relations student intern would work on a variety of projects aimed at developing programs that help our alumni connect with current students (e.g., coaching programs). The responsibilities of the intern would include, but not be limited to:

  • Gathering, summarizing and presenting data on the alumni efforts that are currently being used across ESC centers and unit
  • Gathering, summarizing and presenting data on alumni efforts at other institutions that can serve as knowledge of best practices
  • Helping with the development and implementation of a range of pilot alumni-student programs
  • Developing and implementing stewardship programs/events as part of the pilot alumni-student programs

The student would work closely with Dr. Sue Epstein, the faculty mentor for this internship, and Ms. Maureen Winney, Director of Alumni and Student Relations. This position would require approximately ten hours of work per week during each term. The student intern would need to attend a weekly staff meeting (Monday mornings at 9:30am) at the Alumni House (Saratoga Springs, NY) but can work remotely at other times.
