We offering two paid internships during the fall/winter 2015/2016 for students majoring in Computer Science. You must have a passion for mobile application development, and be willing to take on all sorts of project tasks in support of our team. Experience with iOS or Android development is great, and Objective C, C#, Swift and Unity are all things we use all the time.
The fall/winter intern position is for six months and about 20 hours per week, $14/hr., and we can be flexible on days and hours. It would entail lots of QA work, helping develop and execute test plans, logging and tracking bugs and performance issues as we develop our products. We’d also have some coding assignments in support of the other developers. You’ll be exposed to some of the top iOS and Android designers and developers in the city, we’ve had 25 Category #1s and two Apps of the Year. It would be a nice place to get some experience.

Full-time position to provide supervised visitation services to individuals/families with domestic violence history at The Salvation Army. Responsibilities include: intake, evaluation and assessments of prospective clients; individual visitation plans and interventions; facilitation of visitation sessions with children, teens and non-custodial parents; provision of court documentation and testimony, including recommendations to the court, attorneys, and other parties concerned, regarding custody or other case-specific clinical issues; and maintenance of case records, narratives, and statistical information. Work schedule is 40 hours per week; and is flexible between the hours of 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM.
– MSW or related Masters Degree with strong working knowledge of family dynamics and domestic
– Bachelor’s Degree with Masters Degree nearing completion, and 5 years related experience.
– High level of cultural competence and self-assurance in order to appropriately respond if
intervention is needed during visits to assure children’s safety.
– Valid NYS driver’s license and your own vehicle.

This is newly formed IT Department of the Staten Island Railway, a subsidy of New York City Transit. Project work will be performed across the SIR sites. This Department is responsible for implementing IT solutions in coordination with TIS along with troubleshooting and maintenance of all SIR IT equipment and software environment.
To assist with resolving end-users help request in a timely manner, software/hardware inventory management, preparing/updating documentations, coordinating with project work, troubleshooting software-related issues, deployment/maintenance of IT equipment, applying tags, markings, bar codes etc. for tracking, developing database to incorporate findings; will require site visits and lifting / moving / organizing of items / IT equipment.
Special Qualifications or Background Needed:
Some of the intended qualifications include, but not limited to, excellent verbal and written communication skills, good customer service and follow up skills, knowledge and experience with Windows 7, XP and DOS; Computer Applications such as MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project; Tools such as command-line utility, anti-virus software (McAfee); experience/familiarity with Windows Networking technologies, experience/familiarity with HP, Dell, and Microsoft tablet/notebook and desktop systems, experience/familiarity with configuring/troubleshooting Smart Phones such as Blackberry, iPhones, etc. The selected student must be available at least 20-28 hours per week within normal departmental operating hours 7:30 am to 3:30 pm.
